Kloth, Higareda, Barnes Garner Big East Week 13 Accolades
The final BIG EAST Volleyball weekly awards of 2018 have been given to Creighton’s Taryn Kloth who receives the Offensive Player of the Week, while Georgetown’s Kenzie Higareda collects the Defensive Player of the Week honor. Sanaä Barnes of Villanova picks up the Freshman of the Week accolade.
Barber, Cole, Alexakou Tabbed As Big East’s Best of Week 12
For the fourth time this season, Marquette’s Allie Barber, has claimed the BIG EAST Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honor. Creighton’s Madelyn Cole received the Defensive Player of the Week award for her first accolade of the season, while St. John’s Efrosini Alexakou earned her third Freshman of the Week award.

St. John’s Erica Di Maulo and Xavier’s Meredith Klare collect the BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively. Creighton’s Kari Zumach is the recipient of the Freshman of the Week honor.
Big East: St. John’s Edges Georgetown, Creighton Moves to 10-0
St. John’s played in its program record 11th five-setter, outlasting Georgetown. Meanwhile Creighton’s senior class notched its 100th win, while the program broke a season-attendance record in a sweep of Butler.
AVCA Awards 14 Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarships
The AVCA has announced the 14 recipients for the Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship, which awards coaches money to pay for convention registration and hotel costs in order to attend their first AVCA Convention.
