Bundesliga’s VfB 91 Suhl has announced in its official Facebook page the signing of former South Carolina University star setter Taylor Bruns to its roster:

“Taylor Bruns reinforces our wolf pack at the setter position! She has been training with us since last week, and is now officially a wolf. Welcome to the wolves, Taylor!

The 27-year-old 6’0″ setter, who is transferring out of Sweden’s Halmstad Volley, will undergo her first season in Germany. As a a South Carolina player, Bruns finished her four years of eligibility with the school’s sixth highest career assists total, with 2,858, and eight best assists-per-set average, with 7.58. She was also a four time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll member.

At Suhl, Bruns will try to change a franchise around after it finished its 2017/18 season in 9th place out of 11 teams with a 5-20 record, missing the playoffs all-together. While certainly not the most comfortable position to be in, Bruns will welcome the opportunity to play in one of Europe’s more competitive leagues after spending most of her career in the Finnish and Swedish leagues. She’ll be joined in her quest by fellow Americans McKenzie Jacobson (University of Arizona) and Ashley Mariani (University of Tennessee).
