The field is set for the 14th Arkadiusz Gołaś Memorial, held in honor to the fallen Polish national teamer and Olympian who tragically died from a car accident at only 23 years of age. This year the event will be held from October 5-7 in the Polish town of Swarzędz-Zalasau. The participating teams will be Zaksa, Onico, Zawiercie, and Szczecin, which finished last the last Plusliga’s regular season on 1st, 7th, 10th, and 12th place respectively.

Onico is the current defending champion. Its president, Piotrk Gacek, is excited about the event:

“We are very pleased that for the second year in a row we will have the opportunity to present ourselves during the Arkadiusz Gołas Memorial. This tournament is a beautiful commemoration and an important sporting event. For us it is also the final test before the start of the new PlusLiga season.”

The event’s organizer, Anna Sumelka, was likewise optimistic:

“This year we focused on the best possible set of teams. The transfers carried out by the invited clubs, their level and phenomenal fans, guarantee great sports emotions. I invite everyone to play together in early October.”

As is tradition, many other events will be held alongside the games in Swarzędz-Zalasau, such as workshops, auctions, and even music concerts. Here is the full schedule:
