Tulare, California Volleyball Coach Arrested

Police in Tulare, California have arrested teacher and volleyball coach Angela Holguin Webb, 50, on suspicions that she had sex with a student at Tulare Western High. Investigators allege that she had a 3-and-a-half year relationship with a student while that student. They have not revealed the name, age, or gender of the student, but have implied that it is a former student in the district.

Webb has been placed on administrative leave by the Tulare Joint Union High School District, where she has been employed since 1992. She was most recently a physical education teacher and volleyball coach at Tulare Union High School and was formerly both a physical education teacher and volleyball coach at Tulare Western.

According to MaxPreps, Webb was Tulare Union’s varsity coach from 2009 through 2012.

Police say that when they contacted the victim in the case, the student confirmed the relationship.

Webb, then Angela Holguin, played volleyball collegiately at Fresno Pacific, where she was named both Freshman of the Year in 1987 and Senior of the Year in 1990.
