Less than a month ago after it announced Milos Nikic and Tomi Coskovic as new addition to its roster in order to beef up its squad for the second half of the Turkish season, everything fell apart for Ziraat Bankasi. First, Coskovic was released due to unspecified reasons, and now, Nikic has gone down with a season ending ACL tear, according to Voleybolunsesi.com.

Nikic will now face at least six months of recovery as the Turkish media has stated that he will undergo reconstructive surgery in Belgrade, Serbia. The news could not have come at a worse time for Ziraat Bankasi. After it led the Turkish League for almost its entirety up until now, it suddenly started to lose steam and now currently sits in 2nd place of the standings with a 11-3 record, being overtaken by Halkbank.
