USA’s Girls Win 2nd Straight, Boys Bounce Back In Day 2 Of YOG

BEACH VOLLEYBALL AT THE 2018 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

UCLA‘S Devon Newberry and Lindsey Sparks once again dominated their opponents en route to a second win in Buenos Aires, this time by beating Switzerland’s Baumann/Betschart 2-0 (21/16, 21/12). The team leads Pool A with 2 wins and 0 losses and is yet to lose a set in the competition. It will play  next against the home-country’s duo Villar/Churin, current pool runner-ups with an 1-1 record, on Oct 11.

Meanwhile, the USA boys team, represented by Tim Brewster and John Schwengel bounced back from its opening day defeat by overcoming Venezuelan duo Gabo/Osorio 2-0 (21/13, 21/18). The boys are now in second place in Pool F and will next play on Oct 11 against Aruba’s Railbiently/Brian.
