Shanghai VB and PGE Skra Belchatow enter the 2017 FIVB Men’s Club World Championships as the wild card selections of the competition in Pool B. The tournament will feature three days of pool play with the top two teams moving onto the semifinals then finals.
Shanghai VB has been a dominant force in the Chinese League since its debut 1997, winning 13 titles in 21 editions, including the last three. They will be led by Argentinian national Facundo Conte and French national Julien Lyneel.
This is PGE Skra’s fourth appearance in the tournament, making the podium in all three prior tournaments. They will be led by Polish legend Mariusz Wlazly.
