Penn State hit at a .370 clip and served up eight aces to return the favor and pick up a home victory over Ohio State on Saturday.

Ohio State won in four sets in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 23, garnering just their second win over PSU since 2007.
Since that loss which dropped PSU to 0-2 in the Big Ten at 0-2, Penn State has won four straight, while OSU has three of its last four.
The Nittany Lions outdid the Buckeyes 42-36 in kills, 8-3 in aces and 5-4 in blocks, while outhitting them .370 to .275.
Nia Reed pounded down a career-high 15 kills on a .500 hitting effort to lead the Penn State effort. Taylor Leath added nine putaways on a .389 clip, while Kaitlyn Hord added seven kills on a .385 effort. eserved up a career-best four aces.
Bia Franklin (11), Vanja Bukilic (10) and Jordan Fry (9) paced the Buckeyes. Fry hit at a team-best .600 clip (9-0-15), while Franklin (.409) and Bukilic (.316) also hit over .300.
Penn State hit .364 in the opening stanza, while OSU hit -.105 with six kills and eight errors in 19 swings. PSU jumped ahead 8-3 and continued on to a 20-9 advantage with help from three kills and a block by Serena Gray and seven Buckeye miscues. Another hitting error put Penn State on the hill at 24-12 and a Leath putaway sealed the win two points later.
Ohio State held the upper hand in efficiency in Set 2, .303 to .242 but could not pull out the win. The Nittany Lions went up 11-4 in Set 2 as Leath turned in two kills and a block. The Buckeyes chipped away, eventually slicing the margin to two at 18-16 after two kills and an ace by Franklin. PSU called timeout and scored four of the next five to make it 21-16. OSU was back within two at 23-21, including two Bukilic kills. A service error gave Penn State a set-point try at 25-21. Fry kept the set going, but Jonni Parker issued the final blow at 25-22.
Both teams were nearly error free in Set 3, each making two miscues and hitting .500 or better. Ohio State led by as many as two at 10-8 and again at 17-15, including 11 putaways by five different players. The Nittany Lions used a 6-1 run to turn the deficit into a 21-18 advantage a Reed notched two kills and Hampton capped the rally with back-to-back aces. The Buckeyes were within one three times, last at 23-22, before a service error and hitting error finished off the sweep.
