A strong Zenit Kazan squad will begin their 2017 FIVB Men’s Club World Championship run with Argentina’s Personal Bolivar in Pool B. Pool play for the competition will run for three days between the two pools of four teams with the top two teams in each pool moving onto the semifinals and finals.
Zenit Kazan has made it to the finals in the last two editions of the event but has been unable to finish things off as Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro proved too strong in both years. Zenit Kazan had the backup of Team USA superstar Matt Anderson along with Wilfredo Leon who could possibly be deemed the top volleyball player in the world.
For Bolivar, they are making their third-ever appearance in the tournament after finishing fourth in their first two attempts in 2010 and 2016. On their roster will be Milos Nikic of Serbia along with 15-year-old volleyball hopeful Luciano Roitero.
