On the volleyball court, the Nebraska women came out on top in Kansas City, notching the program’s 14th Final Four berth and fifth national title, the team’s second national title in the last three years (also 2015).
The Florida women made their eighth Final Four and first NCAA finals appearance since 2003.
The Stanford women made their second straight NCAA Final Four appearance, following their 2016 title run, and the 21st in program history, most among Division I schools.
Penn State rounded out the Final Four with their 13th appearances and first since winning the national title in 2014.
Now as the attention of the nation turns to the gridiron for Sunday’s Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, it is no surprise those high profile schools once again find themselves in the national spotlight.
Five Stanford Cardinals will be either on active Super Bowl rosters with the New England Patriots or Philadelphia Eagles or on the teams’ injured reserve lists. That is the most among all schools according to CBSSports.com.
Also among the top in terms of representation, the Florida Gators, which were among six schools to boast four players apiece among the Super Bowl squads.
Nebraska checks in with three players on the NFL’s top two teams. Not to be left out, Penn State also is represented by one member.
