Louisville Joins AVCA Poll at #25, BYU Remains #1

The top 11 teams remained the same in the AVCA Top 25 coaches poll this week, with the only adjustment being that Minnesota and Wisconsin swapped spots, moving to No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.

BYU remains No. 1 with 60 of the 64 first place votes and 1596 points overall. Stanford earned the other four votes and checked in with 1540 points, good for No. 2. Nebraska, Texas and Minnesota followed.

BYU (15-0) is one of just two unbeaten teams left in Division I, alongside No. 8 Pittsburgh (15-0).

Cal Poly and Purdue each moved up two spots to No. 13 and No. 14 respectively. Arizona climbed three spots from 24 to 21 with an upset win over then No. 12 Oregon and Oregon State.

Meanwhile the Ducks crashed eight spots to No. 20 after losses to Arizona and Arizona State.

Louisville (11-4) joined the poll at No. 25 after extending its win streak to five matches with a sweep of Georgia Tech and a five-set win against Clemson. This is the Cardinals’ first ranking of 2018.

Colorado dropped out of the poll after losses to then-No. 13 Washington and No. 22 Washington State.
