American Athletic Conference Honors Bri Wood, Taylor Horsfall

East Carolina right side Bri Wood and Tulsa libero Taylor Horsfall were the standout players in the American Athletic Conference this week, grabbing Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week nods.

Wood notched 3.62 kills per set, while hitting at a .371 clip against Temple and UConn. The freshman from Fayetteville, North Carolina, downed 18 kills, and added five digs and two blocks while hitting .366 against the Owls. She followed that with an 11-kill , three blocks and two effort against the Huskies.

Horsfall had a record-setting week and was honored for her efforts against UCF and USF. The sophomore averaged 8.3 digs per set, while also adding 12 assists in the five set affairs. The Houston native notched a school match record 44 digs against UCF, while also chipping in four assists. She then followed that with a 39 dig, eight assist effort against USF.
