AVCA Accepting Hall of Fame Nominations

Nominations are being taken from now until May 19 for the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Nominations are being accepted in three categories: coach/educator, administrator and organization.

In order to be considered, a coach, educator or administrator/professional staff member must have served for a minimum of 15 years and must have brought exceptional distinction to the individual, his/her institution and/or the AVCA.  For an organization to be eligible, it must have been associated with the sport or AVCA for a minimum of 10 years and brought exceptional distinction to the sport of volleyball and/or the AVCA.

Nominated individuals will be considered for three years.

The AVCA Hall of Fame began in 2003 with an inaugural class of 23 members. Fifty other individuals and organizations have been inducted since that time.

Noteworthy members include United States women’s national team head coach and former pro beach player Karch Kiraly (Class of 2005), and legendary collegiate coaches including: Mick Haley (USC, 2006), Mike Hebert (Pittsburgh/New Mexico/Minnesota/Illinois, 2006), Russ Rose (Penn State, 2007), John Dunning (Stanford/Pacific, 2011), Arnie Ball (IPFW men, 2012) and Pete Hanson (Ohio State men, 2015), among others.
