Czech Republic (Women):

No pairing from the Czech Republic has won the Beach World Championships – both for men and women. In fact, only one team has even placed in the top three, as Eva Celbová/Soňa Nováková came in third back in 2001 on the women’s side. The good news for Czech Republic is just like this tournament, that 2001 edition was played in Austria as they will look for similar success.

Although they come in as the #6 seed in the tournament, Hermannova/Slukova rank third in the world. They’ve been very successful so far on tour, as they have not finished outside of the top-ten. They’ve been consistently at the top, but they’ve yet to win an event this season, so they’ll be looking to get over the hump at Worlds.
