The quarterfinals of the Women’s Champions League began yesterday and continue with two more matches today.

Dynamo Moscow, of the Russian Super League, and Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena, of Italy’s Serie A1, began quarterfinal action, March 22. Dynamo Moscow won 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-13). The teams will play in the second leg of their home-and-home series on April 5.

In Thursday’s action, the first match will feature Eczacibasi and rival Fenerbahce, both from Turkey’s first division. The second will pit Volero Zurich, from the Switzerland NLA, against Vakifbank , from Turkey’s first division.

Esczacibasi features Americans Jordan Larson (Nebraska 2005-08) and Rachael Adams (Texas 2008-11). Volero Zurich’s roster includes American Foluke Akinradewo (Stanford 2005-08), while Kim Hill (Pepperdine indoor 2008-11, beach 2012-13) plays for Vakifbank. The quartet won bronze on the United States Olympic team in 2016.

The teams will face off in home-and-home series with matches on Thursday, March 23 and Tuesday, April 4 (Eczasibasi/Fenerbahce) / Wednesday, April 5 (Volero Zurich/Vakibank) to determine which will advance to the semifinals.

Conegliano, from Italy’s Serie A1, has already advanced into the semifinals.

Group Play

Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena was the top qualifier out of Group A with a 5-1 record, while Conegliano finished 4-2.

Dynamo Moscow went 6-0 to win Group B, while Valero Zurich was the second qualifier with a 4-2 mark.

Fenerbahce was the top qualifier out of Group C, posting a 6-0 record.

Vakifbank won Group D with a 6-0 mark, while Eczacibasi finished second at 4-2.
