Iran Rallies for 5-Set Win, Poland Hangs on In 4 in Pool D Finale

Iran nailed down its spot as the No. 2 team coming out of Pool D with a five-set comeback win over Finland. Meanwhile Poland snatched up its fifth-straight win, topping Bulgaria in four sets.

Australia Claims Final Spot in Second Round from Pool C

Australia cemented its spot among the top four in Pool C and punched its ticket to the second round of World Championships play, riding the arm of Lincoln Williams to a four-set win over Tunisia. Meanwhile, Russia cruised past Cameroon to set up its Pool C finale against Serbia.

Australia followed Lincoln Williams to its first victory of the World Championships.
A well-rested Russian team blazed through Tunisia, including a record-setting 25-6 second stanza.

Bulgaria Punches Ticket to Round 2 with Sweep, Finland Tops Cuba in 4

After opening the World Championships against host Bulgaria on Sunday, Finland had a couple of days to regroup and bounced back with a sweep of No. 16 Cuba. Meanwhile, Bulgaria moved to moved to 2-1 and secured its place in the second round with a dominant blocking effort (12-0) in a sweep of Puerto Rico.
