Former Hawai’i at Hilo Vulcan Hillary Hurley is ready for the next step in her volleyball career, as she was recently announced by Italy’s Soverato as the team’s newest roster addition. A two-sports star at Hawai’i at Hilo, Hurley was the the 2010 PacWest Player of the Year in volleyball and a first-team 2010-11 all-PacWest in basketball.

Hurley is a true volleyball nomad. Soverato will be the 8th stop in her professional career since graduating in 2011. She started as a pro with Sweden’s Svedala Volley, with which she spent two seasons. Her next stops were Finland’s Pislaploki Pihtipudas, Puerto Rico’s Mayaguez Indios, Switzerland’s Neuchâtel Université Club Volleyball, Finland’s HPK Hameenlinna, Korea’s Korea Expressway Corporation, and Phillipines’ Petron Blaze Spikers.

In the first Italian stop of her career, she’ll find a Soverato club that finished its last A2 season in 7th place, sporting a 20-12 record. Although playin in Italy’s second division, this will be a quite nice change of pace for Hurley, as Italy’s A2 is actually more challenging than most of the leagues she has played in so far. She will be greeted on the team by fellow American Elizabeth Ann McMahom.

She announced the news on twitter:
