German Bundesliga Semifinals Continue

The German Bundesliga men’s finals are nearly set, with one match to go on April 20.

In the first semifinal pairing, VFB Friedrichshafen topped SWD powervolleys Duren in the best of three matchup. Friedrichshafen won 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21) on April 9 and 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21) on April 15.

In the other pairing, Berlin Recycling Volleys and United Volleys Rhein-Main are tied at one match apiece. BR Volleys won the first meeting 3-0 on April 8 (33-31, 25-23, 25-17) and Rhein-Main won the second, taking a 3-1 decision (5-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23) on April 16. The teams will meet again April 20 with a spot in the finals on the line. Statistics will be available here.

VFB Friedrichshafen seeking its 14th Bungesliga title, with the last coming in 2014-15.

BR Volleys is the defending Bundesliga champion, having won its seventh title in 2015-16.

Rhein-Main is hoping to earn its first ever spot in the Bundesliga finals.
