Inside The Numbers: A Look at the NCAA Stats through Week 4

Heading into the conference season, Cincinnati’s Jordan Thompson, who has won three-straight ACC Player of the Week honors, leads the nation with 6.86 points and 6.24 kills per set.

Loyola Marymount’s Tess Reid has dished 12.98 assists per set to lead that category, while her hitter Emma Johnson is tops in hitting efficiency with a .533 clip.

UNLV’s Mariena Hayden has served up 52 aces (1.16) per set to pace the nation from the end line.

Defensively, Dana Rettke from Wisconsin is the best at the net with 1.90 blocks per set, while Toledo’s Maurissa Leonard leads the way in the backcourt with 6.32 digs per set.

In the team rankings, Florida Atlantic is No. 1 in both kills per set (16.06) and assists per set (15.14). Pittsburgh, one of six undefeated teams left nationally, has paved its way with a .317 hitting effort, the highest in the country.

With Hayden leading the way, UNLV has racked up 2.40 aces per set.

Defensively, Northern Kentucky is the best in the backcourt with 19.93 digs per set. With 3.37 stuffs per set, Penn State owns the net.

Nebraska and Michigan each have held their foes to a .109 hitting effort, the lowest opponent percentages in the country. Both teams will put their defense to the test, when they face off on Friday in Lincoln.
