Elena Pietrini and Vielka Michelle Peralta Luna starred as Italy and the Dominican Republic registered sweeps of Cuba and Egypt respectively to remain atop Pool H at 2-0.

Errors were the story of the day as Italy made good on 33 Cuban miscues in a quick hour and two minute sweep.
Italy registered two more kills (20-18), four more blocks (10-6) and eight more aces (12-4), while grabbing 20 extra points on errors (33-13).
Elena Pietrini led all scorers with nine points, downing seven kills and adding two aces for the Italians. Nkemdilim Ruth Terry Enweonwu and Marina Lubian added eight points apiece. Lubin turned in three kills, a team-best three blocks and two aces, while Enweonwu chipped in six kills and two blocks. Jennifer Boldini served up a team-leading four aces.
The Cubans are still struggling to find a consistent scorer after the loss of star Heidy Casanova to injury against Brazil on Sunday. Yamislegdis Viltres Pacheco managed six points to lead the Cuban effort, with five kills and a block. Elizabeth Vicet Campos, Diaris De La Caridad Perez Ramos and Ailama Cese Montalvo scored four points apiece. Campos notched a team-best two aces and two blocks.
Dominican Republic 3, Egypt 0
Vielka Michelle Peralta Luna scored 12 points, while four others added seven or more as the Dominican Republic swept Egypt.
Luna put down nine kills and added two aces and a block, while Mesalina Luz Del Sol Yosil Severino (8), Geraldine Stefany Gonzalez (8), Madeline Jazmin Guillen Paredes (8) and Yanlis Liliannis Feliz Sena (7) followed. Gonzalez put down a team-best four blocks, while Peredes added three. Severino chipped in four kills, two aces and two blocks.
Nourallah Amin scored a team-best seven points, with five kills and two blocks. She was one of just three starters to play in all three sets in the match alongside Mayar Mohamed and Dana Emam. Nada Meawad and Noura Moawad, who had led the team thus far in the U20 Championships saw action in one set apiece, managing two kills each.
The Dominican Republic scored 36 points on kills, 11 on blocks, four on aces and 24 on Egyptian miscues. Egypt, meanwhile, managed just 26 kills, two blocks and three aces.
