Lincoln Alexander Williams of Australia Lands in Poland

After spending just one season in the German Bundesliga, Lincoln Alexander Williams, made the move to the Polish PlusLiga. He will be joining other newcomers Jan Fornal, Tomasz Kowalski, and Jake Langlois at MKS Będzin. The club was almost relegated out of the PlusLiga, finishing 13th place in the regular season and playoffs.

Williams comes to Poland after finishing as the 10th-best scorer in the German Bundesliga for Rhein-Main Volleys with 247 points. His 3.9 points per set was 7th-best in Germany last season. Williams finished the season with 214 kills, 21 aces, and 12 blocks. His team finished the regular season in 3rd place and lost to the Berlin Recycling Volleys 2-0 in a best-of-3 semifinal series.

Before Williams played in Germany, he spent three seasons in Estonia with Selvir Talinn. During his first year in Estonia, he won a silver medal in the Baltic League. His club won the Estonian championship in 2016 and 2017 with Williams as the starting opposite. They also won the Estonian Cup in 2017.

Williams began his career with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in the Australian Volleyball League at the age of 16. He spent two seasons with AIS and won the league championship in 2012. His next stops were in Sweden with Linköpings VC (winning the bronze medal in the Swedish league in 2013) and Italy with Volley Corigliano (Serie A2 at the time).

MKS Będzin is also gaining an Olympian with Lincoln Alexander Williams. He represented Australia at the 2012 Olympic Games at the age of 18. He also played in the FIVB World League in 2014, 2015, 2017. Mark Lebedew has called upon him during the 2018 Volleyball Nations League as well. Williams scored 81 points in the Preliminary Round. Most of those came from his 69 kills, but he led Australia with 10 service aces and a 0.18 aces per set ratio.
