Former Louisville standout Erin Fairs is taking her game to Poland after beginning her pro career with stints in Sweden, Turkey, Puerto Rico and Romania.
The 24-year old outside hitter signed on with Trefl Proxima Krakow in Poland for the 2018-19 season. Trefl plays in Liga Siatkowki and finished sixth in 2017 at 13-13.
Fairs also has made stops in:
- Targoviste, Romania (2017-18)
- Aibonito, Puerto Rico (2017)
- Maltepe Yali Spor, Turkey (2016-17)
- Engelholm, Sweden (2016)
After finishing the 2017-18 season in Romania, Fairs was a member of “Team Dream,” which won the USA Adult Open National Championship in May. The squad was the first ever all-African American team to compete in the women’s open division at the event.
Fairs began her collegiate career at USF, where she earned Big East Freshman of the Year honors in 2012 and American Athletic Conference Player of the Year nods in 2013. As a junior, she garnered first team All-American Athletic Conference accolades. Once making the jump to Louisville, the Houston, Texas, native led the Cardinals with 4.36 points and 3.87 kills per set, while also adding 1.32 digs per set and 18 aces en route to AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
As a senior, Fairs was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference, making her the first player in history to all conference honors in three different leagues.
