2017 NJCAA D-I All-America Honorable Mention outside hitter/opposite Hannah Davis is headed to Eastern Washington via transfer after finishing her junior college stint at New Mexico Military Institute. Davis will be a junior come the fall with two years left of play and is set to be immediately eligible.
A 6’1″ pin player from Herriman, Utah, Davis helped the Broncos to a 51-31 record in her two seasons combined at New Mexico Military Institute. She immediately saw time as a true freshman in 2016 when she appeared in 39 matches and 143 sets and notched 307 kills (2.15 per set), 136 blocks (0.95 per set) and 48 aces (0.34 per set).
Many of her numbers rose in year two as a sophomore on a team that went 31-12 en route to a deep tournament run that ended in a third place finish in the NJCAA Division I Tournament. Individually, she racked up 363 kills (2.49 per set) on a .230 hitting percentage, 132 blocks (0.90 per set), 100 digs (0.68 per set) and 34 aces (0.23 per set).
Those numbers – which included top 25 finishes in the nation in kills and blocks – led to her earning that national recognition as well as being WJCAC All-Conference in 2017.
Eastern Washington is coming off of a 7-18 season in which they went 4-12 as a member of the Big Sky Conference.
