Pepperdine’s David Wieczorek Garners AVCA Player Of The Week Honors

Pepperdine’s David Wieczorek has been named the AVCA DI-II Men’s Player of the Week after helping the Waves to a 2-0 week.

For the week, Wieczorek posted 3.38 kills per set on a .367 hitting clip that included 1.25 digs, 1.38 blocks and 0.88 aces per set. In the team’s win over UC Santa Barbara, he recorded 14 kills on a .314 hitting percentage along with 3 aces, 7 digs and 6 blocks. The team then more impressively took down the #2 ranked UCLA Bruins at home in a sweep where Wieczorek put down 13 kills on a .440 hitting performance along with 4 aces, 3 digs and 5 blocks.

Wieczorek is the 29th player in Pepperdine history to receive the honor, with the last one coming on March 24, 2015, when Matt West garnered the award.
