The USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships are underway. The 24 women’s teams have been divided into six pools, A through F. The top two teams in each pool advance as well as the highest four of the third-place pool finishers, based on their point ratios.

Pepperdine’s top duo Delaney Knudsen and Madalyn Roh registered a pair of straight-set wins over Pac-12 foes on the opening day of Pool C action. The pair, which went 20-12 this season, downed Crissy Jones and Tia Scambray of Washington and UCLA’s Madi Yeomans and Lily Justine.

Yeomans/ Justine and Jones/ Scambay finished the day 1-1 after defeating USC’s Abril Bustamante and Joy Dennis.
