Retired U.S. Olympic volleyball player Kim Glass will join the cast of MTV reality show The Challenge for a special spinoff season where the entire cast is playing for charity.

The series is a game show that traditionally pits alumni of other MTV reality shows like Real World and Road Rules against each other in a series of challenges (like in the name of the series) to win cash. Last season, season 30 of the series, featured a record prize pool of $1,000,000.

This special season (which is not being called season 31, but is sort of an in-between season) will pit MTV alums against “stars” from outside of the show’s offerings – athletes, musicians, comedians, and reality television stars from other networks and genres. $150,000 in charitable donations will be made for the show’s participants.

Among those on the stars team is the 33-year old Glass. who was an outside hitter at the 2008 Olympic Games where Team USA won silver. Among her other major accomplishments was a gold medal at the 2011 FIVB World Grand Prix, a gold medal at the 2011 NORCECA Championship, a 2005 AVCA First-Team All-America honor, and having her jersey retired at Arizona after becoming the first player in school history with 2,000 career kills. She retired from professional volleyball in 2015.

Glass has previously been in the spotlight off the court – she posed for the 2011 Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition and has built a second career as a model and personal trainer.
