Italian Women’s Serie A Weekly Update

The second week of league play for the Italian Women’s Serie A is in the books. With the Italian Cup underway, teams are vying for an early season victory to establish their strength. This past weekend all of the teams played for the title except for Imoco Volley Conegliano and their opponent Il Bisonte Firenze. The match was postponed due to Imoco Volley Conegliano’s inclusion in the CEV Women’s League. Conegliano represented the Italian league well with a decisive 3-0 win against Linamar BEKESCSABAI RSE. Tomorrow’s match is an opportunity for one of the teams to separate from the pack as Imoco Volley Conegliano and Il Bisonte Firenze are tied in the league at 3 points each.

For the rest of the league, the matches were won decisively with only two matches going past 3 sets and none going all 5.
