San Diego’s Lisa Kramer Named WCC Player of the Year

Player of the Year: Lisa Kramer, University of San Diego
Defender of the Year: Sarah Sponcil, Loyola Marymount
Freshman of the Year: McKenna Miller, BYU
Coach of the Year: Brent Crouch, University of Portland

All-American San Diego senior Lisa Kramer was named WCC’s Player of the Year after leading the WCC in kills, averaging 4.11 per set. She is the 10th San Diego player to earn Player of the Year.

Sarah Sponcil is the first Loyola Marymount Lion to be awarded Defensive Player of the Year since 2011. She posted 11 double-doubles during conference play this season.

BYU freshman McKenna Miller made an impact on the Cougar team, with 13 double-doubles. She is ranked third in the WCC for kills per set with an average of 3.73. Miller is the third BYU player to win the Freshman of the Year nod since 2012.
