Serbian national team regular Ana Antonijević has transferred to Turkish side Fenerbahce beginning with the 2018-2019 season. The 6-1 (182 cm) setter played most recently for Volero Zurich, which had been her third separate run with the Swiss club. Fenerbahce will also introduce a new head coach when they begin play this fall as Zoran Terzic will be moving from his former club, Dinamo Moscow, to lead the Turkish League side. Terzic is currently coaching Antonijević and her Serbian teammates at the 2018 Volleyball Nations League competition, having previously led that nation to gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and at the the 2017 European Championship, where they defeated the Dutch side to take home the crown even though they were forced to c0mpete without seven injured players.

Antonijević’s own fortunes have turned significantly for the better since the 2017 World Grand Prix, where she had tested positive for clenbuterol due to tainted food that she had inadvertently eaten at the hotel where she and the team were staying in China. In October of that same year, the FIVB lifted its doping suspension and cleared her of wrongdoing.
