PlusLiga’s Szczecin has announced in its official website that it has extended ties with Bartłomiej Kluth for a third season. The 26-year-old 6’10” opposite has averaged 4.23 points/set in his PlusLiga career. In 2017, he broke PlusLiga’s single game scoring record when he netted dow 40 points in Szczecin‘s 3-1 victory over Gdansk.

Here is how Kluth reacted to the extension:

Szczecin is the place where I started my adventure in PlusLiga and, who knows, maybe I will even finish it here. Two years ago, the owners of the club decided to trust me and I received a very valuable opportunity from them.  There were various rumors about me, but I had no intention of running away. I want to continue to wear the club’s shirt and fight on the court to give the fans a lot of reasons to be happy.

I realize that the eyes of all volleyball fans in Poland will now be turned in our direction, so necessarily the pressure and expectations towards our team will increase. People will be curious about us because suddenly there is a club with large investment in the country, which will want to prove its value in every single match. If health is good and we all are heading in the same direction, then certainly the team can fight for a few surprises.

It has been three and a half months since the end of the last season. Soon players will return to the hall and start their first training sessions before the new games. I can not wait for that and I will take great pleasure in each workout. Three and a half months is far too much for me away from volleyball. I want to be optimally prepared for the season, not only physically but also mentally, because that is extremely important in sport. I count down the days to start working and I still want to be an important puzzle of our Szczecin puzzle.”

Although Szczecin finished its 2017-18 season in 12th place with a 10-20 record, things are bound to be different for the team this upcoming season. So far, it has signed to its roster superstars Lukasz Zygadlo, Bartoz Kurek, Matey Kaziyski, and coach Radostin Stoychev. It has all the looks of a super team.
