Hawaii Grabs Big West Top Honors, Maglio/Schucht Tabbed Pair of the Yr

Hawai‘i dominated the 2018 women’s beach volleyball awards after claiming its third-straight Big West Tournament title at Queen’s Beach in Honolulu. The SandBows garnered all three of the top awards: senior Ka’iwi Schucht and junior Emily Maglio earned Pairs Team of the Year honors, Lea Monkhouse garnered Freshman of the Year accolades and Jeff Hall was tabbed Coach of the Year as the conference announced the all-conference teams today.

Hawaii’s Martin/Monkhouse Repeat As Big West Beach Pair Of The Week

At the No. 3 position, Hawaii’s Morgan Martin (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley HS) and Lea Monkhouse (Mississauga, Ont., Canada/Capistrano Valley HS) earned Big West Pairs Team of the Week honors for the second-straight week after a perfect 6-0 weekend.

Hawaii Splits Against UCLA, LMU To Open Main Land Road Trip

In their first mainland matches of the season, the No. 3 University of Hawai’i beach volleyball team split a pair of matches against No. 4 UCLA and No. 17 Loyola Marymount Thursday at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.
