Thailand Sweeps SEA Games Titles

Thailand continued its stranglehold on the top of the SEA Games podium, taking its eighth straight women’s title and fourth-straight men’s crown on Sunday. The women swept Indonesia in the title match, while the men topped the Indonesian in four sets for the championship.

The women’s championship was a rematch of a Pool A meeting between the teams, which Thailand, the Asian Women’s Championship runnerup, also won via sweep.

Vietnam brought home the bronze medal in both the men’s and women’s competitions. The women edged the Philippines in four sets, while the men downed Myanmar in four.

Thailand def. Indonesia 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 25-20

 

Men’s Bronze Medal Match

Vietnam def. Myanmar 3-1 (25-19, 25-1, 22-25, 25-17)

 

Women’s Championship Match

Thailand def. Indonesia 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 26-24)

 

Women’s Bronze Medal Match

Vietnam def. Philippines 3-1 (25-27, 25-22, 25-20, 25-21)
