The U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams donated sports equipment to nine Anaheim High Schools and welcomed 100 athletes to the American Sports Center training facility in an effort to give back to the community in which they train.

The high school players, along with representatives from the school district, city of Anaheim and Sports Anaheim were on hand March 30 to receive the equipment donation. The athletes were then invited to a training session on the courts at the American Sports Centers, where the U.S. National Teams train. Players and coaches from both the U.S. men’s and women’s squads participated in the training session. The teams then held a meet and greet with the athletes and signed autographs.

Representing the U.S. Women’s team were head coach Karch Kiraly, newly named assistant coach Tama Miyashiro and national team players Tori Dixon and Inky Ananaku. On the men’s side, assistant coach Matt Fuerbringer was in attendance alongside players Carson Clark and Garrett Muagututia.

USA Volleyball signed a contract with Sports Anaheim at the end of 2016 to make Anaheim the official host city of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams through the 2020 Olympic quadrennial. Sports Anaheim is a division of the city’s destination marketing organization.
