Head Coach of the University of Tennessee at Martin Gains Skyhawks, Jaclynn Yocum, announced the additions of six newcomers that will be joining her roster. Three incoming freshman and three transfer students will be suiting up for the Skyhawks this upcoming 2017 season.

Bailey Darnall, a junior 6’1 opposite, is transferring from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa to University of Tennessee at Martin this December. The former All-Region honoree as a sophomore, served 56 aces (eighth nationally) and produced 4.01 kills per set (seventh nationally) at Indian Hills CC. After a school record 27-match winning streak in 2016, Darnall will be suiting up with the Skyhawks for the upcoming 2017 season.

Yocum says Bailey is an aggressive utility player that can either play on the outside or opposite position and is ready for the challenge to play at a higher competitive level as a Skyhawk and can’t wait for her to get in the gym.

Darnall helped the Indian Hills CC Warriors post a 69-10 record over the past two seasons and totaled 457 kills, 85 blocks and 208 digs in 2016 and produced double-digit kills in 27 different matches including five 20-plus kills last season. Darnall also racked up some stats defensively by collecting a season-high of 15 digs during two different matches and was just shy of a triple-double with 26 kills, 12 digs and a career high of 8 aces.
