Both Brazil and China will look to remain unbeaten at the 2017 FIVB Women’s World Grand Champions Cup as the meet on day two of the competition. This will be the third time in the history of the event that Brazil and China meet at the tournament with the Brazilian side holding the 2-1 advantage.
The most recent meeting between the two crews was at the FIVB World Grand Prix, where China won in straight sets. China also took down the Brazilian side at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in the quarterfinals and on their way to the gold medal.
Brazil opened up the Grand Champions Cup with a four-set win over Russia, where Tandara Caixeta posted 28 points in the win, twice as many as any of her teammates. This year, Brazil took the gold at the World Grand Prix, while also being named the South American Champions.
China’s Zhu Ting will be the driving force for the Chinese squad as she scored 21 points in the team’s four-set win over Team USA. This season, China placed fourth at the World Grand Prix and the Asian Championships.
