The top 15 teams remained the same in the Week 9 AVCA poll, but there were some slight shifts in positioning among those squads.

Long Beach State kept the No. 1 spot on lock after moving to a program-best 16-0 start with sweeps of Cal State Northridge on Friday and Sunday.

Hawaii is No. 2 for the second straight week after sweeps of then No. 13 Concordia Irvine on Friday and Sunday. The Rainbow Warriors will face tough tests this week, however, taking on No. 8 Lewis, No. 11 Penn State and No. 4 BYU at the Outrigger Resorts Invitational in Honolulu.

A week off bumped UC Irvine up a spot to No. 3, but the Anteaters hop back into action against a pair of Top 20 squads, facing vote getter Fort Wayne and No. 10 Ball State in Irvine on Wednesday and Thursday.

BYU shifted up to No. 4 with wins over then No. 8 Pepperdine and then No. 3 UCLA on Saturday. The Bruins fell to No. 5.

Other than UCLA’s two-spot drop, no team moved more than one position either up or down on the week.
