There were no real surprises Saturday in the West Coast Conference slate of matches. #1 BYU moved to 15-0 with a sweep of the visiting Pilots. San Diego swept by Gonzaga at home and the two Los Angeles-based schools, Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine both picked up sweeps in the Bay area, as the Lions took down San Francisco and the Waves swept Santa Clara.

PEPPERDINE DEF. SANTA CLARA 3-0 (28-26, 25-8, 27-25)
- Pepperdine improves to 10-5, 4-1; Santa Clara drops to 5-11, 0-3 in the WCC.

- Pepperdine was led by outside hitters Hannah Frohling and Rachel Ahrens, who each tallied 13 kills. Opposite hitter Shannon Scully chipped in with 12 kills for the Waves.
- Libero Hana Lishman led Pepperdine with a match-high 21 digs.
- Pepperdine remains a game behind BYU for the top spot in the conference and the Waves have bounced back to win back-to-back matches since being swept in Provo.
- Opposite hitter Caoili Kamrin led the Broncos at home with 10 kills and hit .333 on the attack.
Pepperdine survived a pair of tight sets in picking up the road sweep over Santa Clara at the Leavey Center.
The Broncos were in good shape in the first set as they jumped out to an early 13-8 lead. Santa Clara continued to lead but Pepperdine worked its way back and tied the match at 21 apiece. The Waves had set point at 24-22, but Santa Clara reeled off three straight to earn one of its own at 25-24. The Broncos saved one more set point at 26-25 before Pepperdine finally took the opener, 28-26.
In the second, Pepperdine scored the first eight points of the set and raced out to a dominant 17-1 lead. Santa Clara would finish better than it started, but the second went to the Waves 25-8.
Much like the first set, the third was highly contested. Pepperdine held a 15-11 lead, but Santa Clara rallied to tie it at 17. The Broncos continued to ride its comeback momentum and earned a set point at 24-22. Pepperdine scored three straight and five of the next seven points to take the set 27-25.

- Outside hitter Roni Jones-Perry led the top ranked Cougars offensively, tallying 14 kills. Fellow outside hitter Madelyn Robinson added eight kills and hit .500, and middle blocker Heather Gneiting registered seven while hitting .667.
- BYU tallied .337 as a team while limiting the visiting Pilots to .076.
- Outside hitter Reghan Pukis led Portland with 11 kills, but hit just. .095.
- BYU has won all 15 sets it has played in conference play and lost just one set in the month of September.

SAN DIEGO DEF. GONZAGA 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-11)
- San Diego moves to 7-4, 4-1; Gonzaga drops to 4-11, 1-3 in the WCC.

- San Diego was led by middle blocker Meghan Jacobsen and outside hitter Katie Lukes, who each tallied 10 kills for the Toreros.
- Libero Payton Douglass was the defensive catalyst for San Diego, tallying 15 digs.
- Middle blocker Katie Loewen led Gonzaga with eight kills.
- San Diego hit .313 while holding the Zags to just .086.

LOYOLA MARYMOUNT DEF. SAN FRANCISCO 3-0 (26-24, 25-16,25-17)
- Loyola Marymount moves to 13-3, 3-2 ; San Francisco falls to 8-7, 1-3 in the WCC.

- Outside hitters Savannah Slattery (14), Bo Culo (12), and opposite hitter Sara Kovac (11) provided most of the Lions’ attack against the Dons.
- Loyola Marymount dominated San Francisco in most of the major statistical categories, 48-19 in kills, 12-2 in aces, and 43-24 in digs.
- San Francisco was led by outside hitter McKenna Marshall‘s nine kills.
- LMU hit .316 as a team and held USF to .167 on the attack.
