1st Round Matchups

#1 USC vs #8 South Carolina

  • Friday, May 5 at 9 AM (ET)

1-loss USC looks for its second straight national title. South Carolina was the final team in in the East, beating out Stetson and Florida International, whom we had in that final spot over the course of our projections.

#4 Florida State vs #5 Hawaii

  • Friday, May 5 at 10 AM (ET)

Florida State was the top team selected out of the East, and they’ll get the last at-large team into the tournament in Hawaii.

#2 UCLA vs #7 LSU

  • Friday, May 5 at 11 AM (ET)

UCLA knocked off USC once in the Pac-12 Tournament this weekend, though USC struck back to win the conference title. LSU is the second-best team from the East, but only pulls a 7-seed against the tough western crew.

#3 Pepperdine vs #6 Long Beach State

  • Friday, May 5 at 12 noon (ET)

Pepperdine was in the mix for the 2-seed, but UCLA’s upset of USC sealed up the top two spots. Pepperdine will get Long Beach State, an at-large bid, but no slouches after a brutal regular season slate.
