Park’s Meawad, Gomes Among NAIA Week 1 Honorees
Nada Meawad of Park (Mo.) has been named the NAIA National Attacker of the Week, Alyssa Rupert of Milligan (Tenn.) has been named the Defender of the Week and Danna Gomes of Park has been named the Setter of the Week.
Loberg, Peters, Poulter, Hilley, Balyko Honored by Big Ten
Wisconsin’s Grace Loberg and Sydney Hilley were honored for their role in the Badgers’ upset of Texas, while Purdue’s Brooke Peters, Illinois’ Jordyn Poulter and Rutgers’ Inna Balyko also were honored among Big Ten players for their Week 2 efforts.
Roni Jones-Perry Selected AVCA Player of the Week
Senior Roni Jones-Perry was tabbed AVCA Division I Women’s Player of the Week after leading 3rd-ranked BYU to a 3-0 mark last week. She is the seventh player in Cougar women’s volleyball history to be recognized as player of the week and the first since 2015.
