The Huskers secured dominant, back-to-back sweeps against Ohio and Wake Forest in Ameritas Players Club Challenge action inside the Devaney Center on Friday. Santa Clara also went 2-0 on Day 1.

Santa Clara handed Wake Forest a 4-set loss to open the Ameritas Players Club Challenge Friday morning. The Broncos hit .233 on the match, while holding the Demon Deacons to a .172 attack percentage in the win.
Junior Michelle Gajdka registered a double-double with a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs to lead the Broncos to victory. Junior Ngozi Nwabuzoh joined her in double figures with a 10-kill effort. Freshman Liliana Light distributed a team-high 40 assists, while fellow freshman Michelle Shaffer posted a team-high 19 digs.
For Wake Forest, sophomore Madeline Holt recorded a double-double with a team-high 37 assists and 11 digs. Junior Caroline Rassenfoss (15), sophomore Myca Mitchelle (11) and junior Caitlyn Della (11) all registered double-figure kill totals, while senior Hailey McFadden led the team with 16 digs.

No. 5 Nebraska cruised past Ohio Friday afternoon inside the Devaney Center. The Huskers were dominant in the match, outdoing the Bobcats in every statistical category, including attack percentage (.349-.047), kills (41-23), assists (35-21), digs (38-27), service aces (7-2) and blocks (3-1).

Senior All-American and reigning NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player Mikaela Foecke hit a blistering .593 clip in the win to go with a team-leading 17 kills. Freshman Nicklin Hames dished out a team-high 28 assists, while senior Kenzie Maloney notched a team-best 11 digs.
Junior Lizzie Stephens registered a team-high 7 kills for the Bobcats, while sophomore Vera Giacomazzi posted 13 assists and sophomore Macy Reihing tallied 8 digs.

Santa Clara cruised by Ohio in straight sets to register its second victory of the day in Lincoln, Neb. The Broncos posted a .250 attack percentage to the Bobcats’ .121 effort to earn the win.

Set 1 was an all-out battle as the Broncos and Bobcats played through 15 ties. Ohio had Santa Clara at set point, 25-24, however, a 5-2 stretch allowed the Broncos to come out on top, 29-27.
Santa Clara controlled the match from there, logging victories in the second and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-20, respectively.
Freshman Michelle Shaffer (12 kills, .385 attack percentage, team-high 12 digs) and junior Alexa Dreyer (11 kills, .647 attack percentage) led the Broncos to victory. Freshman Liliana Light also notched a double-double with a team-high 39 assists and 10 digs.
Redshirt senior Katie Nelson paced Ohio with 9 kills (.333 attack percentage), followed by sophomore Tia Jimerson, who logged 8 on the night (.429 attack percentage). Sophomore Vera Giacomazzi distributed a team-high 16 assists, while junior Meredith Howe, freshman Kyra Slavik and redshirt senior Jaime Kosiorek all tallied a team-leading 7 digs.

No. 5 Nebraska made quick work of Wake Forest, downing the Demon Deacons in straight sets to close out Friday action inside the Devaney Center. The Huskers held their opponents to a dismal -.033 attack percentage and just 18 kills, while hitting .341 with 37 kills.

Nebraska started hot, outscoring Wake Forest 5-1 to open Set 1. The Huskers led by as many as 11 en route to their 25-14 win. The second set was more of the same, as Nebraska never trailed and used a 7-0 run to silence the Demon Deacons and record a 25-11 victory.
Nebraska remained in control, beginning the third set with a 5-0 run to keep Wake Forest on its heels. A 7-point run provided a large cushion for the Huskers, who closed it out 25-9 to claim the match result.

Sophomore Jazz Sweet tallied a team-high 11 kills for the Huskers, while hitting .579 on the match. Fellow sophomore Lauren Stivrins notched 8 kills and hit an outstanding .700. Freshman Nicklin Hames posted a double-double with a team-high 26 assists and 11 digs. Senior Kenzie Maloney logged a team-best 12 digs.
Wake Forest was led by junior Caroline Rassenfoss, who notched 6 of 18 total kills for the Demon Deacons. Sophomore Madeline Holt posted a team-high 13 assists, while junior Caitlin Clarke recorded a team-high 10 digs.
