No. 9 South Carolina and No. 17 Stetson each picked up a pair of wins in Friday’s Top 20 action. The Gamecocks bested No. 19 Tulane and Coastal Carolina at their own Palmetto Invitational, while the Hatters extended their current win streak to four matches with a pair of ASUN victories over Jacksonville and North Florida.

The Gamecocks moved to 18-6 on the season with the victories. Graduate transfer Lydia Dimke made her way back to the sand after suffering a foot injury in the team’s season opener and came in clutch in the team’s win over Tulane, teaming with Aubrey Ezell on Court 3 to snag a three-set affair and clinch the 3-2 victory.

Darby Dunn and Sammee Thomas picked up two wins on Court 1 for Stetson, with the first earning Dunn her 50th career dual win. The Hatters have now won 21 straight ASUN matches and have reached the 25 win mark for just the second time in school history. With a repeat victory over UNF on Saturday, Stetson would clinch its fourth straight league title.

In other Top 20 action, No. 19 Tulane edged No. 20 College of Charleston 4-1, before the Cougars rebounded with a 4-1 win over Missouri State.

“It was a terrific win against a tough College of Charleston team,” Tulane head coach Wayne Holly said. “We played with great focus and with a concerted effort to avenge our earlier loss to them. I’m definitely proud of our workman-like attitude in that match.”

With the win over the Bears, CofC posted its single season record 14th win.
