After finishing third in Italy’s Serie A last season, Italian national team member, Lucia Bosetti, will return to Savino Del Bene Volley Scandicci for the 2018-19 campaign. The 5-10 (178 cm) outside attacker will look to avenge her side’s loss to Imoco Volley Conegliano in last season’s Serie A playoffs.
Bosetti recently replaced Alice Degrada on the Italian roster for the second week of Volleyball Nation’s League competition after Italy went 0-3 in the first week of play in Lincoln, Nebraska. In last year’s Grand Prix, Bosetti scored 47 points for Italy, hitting 29.7% with a .110 hitting efficiency.
The daughter of former national team coach, Giuseppe Bosetti, and former national team player, Franca Bardelli, Lucia Bosetti‘s professional career began in 2003 in Italy’s Serie C when she was still just 14. Her sister, Caterina Bosetti, also plays professionally and is currently recovering from a serious injury she sustained with Modena in April.
Prior to joining Savino Del Bene Volley Scandicci at the beginning of the 2017-18 season, Bosetti played most recently for Pomi Cassalmaggiore in Italy for a single season after spending two years with Fenerbahce Istanbul in the Turkish League. She has also played professionally for Rebecchi Volley Piacenza, Asystel MC Carnaghi, Bergamo Volley and Sassuolo Volley.
