Pomi Casalmaggiore has announced in its official website the signing of Kenia Carcaces to its roster. The 32-year-old 6’2 Cuban outside hitter, who is transferring out of Japan’s Ageo Medics, will undergo her first pro season in the Italian league.
Here are her first words as a member of her new team:
“I’m excited to start this new experience at Casalmaggiore. I’ve wanted to to Italy for some time now, convinced that A1 championship is the most important is the most important in the world because of the quality of its clubs and athletes. I finally now succeeded and I’m sure we’ll have fun. I know several of my teammates, having already played against them in international competitions or because their fame. Together we will make a great group and in the field we will do our best to give satisfaction to the sponsors and our fans.”
Kenia is a 5x Cuban champion, as well as a 2x Swiss champion. At Pomi, she’ll find a team that has made it clear to everyone this transfer window that it does not intend to repeat its last season’s fate, which almost saw the team, one of Italy’s finest, get relegated from the A1 league.
