2017 FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – VIENNA

American pair Theo Brunner and Casey Patterson won their opener at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships last week with an unusual overhead back-set for match point by the electric Patterson.

Brunner said he credited Patterson for being the “lightning rod” of the nearly 10,000 strong crowd in attendance to watch the Americans play a home Austrian team – Patterson took a lot of the attention and pressure off the team.
