5 key matchups in conference races as well as 10 matches featuring two VolleyMob Top 25 teams are on the docket this week for NCAA volleyball fanatics to enjoy!

The Big Ten sees Top 15 Purdue hit the road for a pair of ranked matchups, while four of our featured teams will be looking to avenge earlier season losses.

Purdue (No. 14 VolleyMob / No. 12 AVCA) at Wisconsin (No. 6 VolleyMob / No. 8 AVCA)

Friday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. ET

UW Fieldhouse | Madison, Wisconsin

  • The Badgers are looking to avoid their first three-match losing skid since Sept. 30-Oct. 7, 2017 (at #8 Nebraska, vs. #6 Minnesota and at #14 Michigan State) after dropping home matches against Minnesota (3-1 on Wednesday) and Michigan (3-1 on Sunday) last week.
  • Purdue lost 3-0 to the Badgers in West Lafayette on Sept. 29, but the Boilermakers have found their groove as of late, winning their last seven matches, including a five-set upset of Penn State on Oct. 27.
  • Wisconsin leads the all-time series 46-32. The Badgers have won eight of the last nine meetings, save the 2017 contest in West Lafayette, and boast a 26-9 advantage in contests played in Madison, Wis.

Nebraska (No. 7 VolleyMob / No. 6 AVCA) at Michigan (No. 13 VolleyMob / No. 15 AVCA)

Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. ET

Cliff Keen Arena | Ann Arbor, Michigan

  • The Huskers took the first meeting in the season series in four sets on Sept. 21 in both teams’ Big Ten opener. Nebraska hit .314 in the match, following Mikaela Foecke‘s 21 kills, nine digs, six blocks and .391 hitting effort.
  • Nebraska is on a two-match win streak, including a five-set affair against Penn State on Friday. Prior to that victory, however, the Huskers had dropped five of their last seven.
  • Michigan will face Maryland at home on Wednesday before welcoming Nebraska to Cliff Keen Arena. The Wolverines topped Wisconsin in four sets on Sunday, snapping a three-match losing skid and avenging an Oct. 26 five-set loss.

Penn State (No. 5 VolleyMob / No. 7 AVCA) at Illinois (No. 4 VolleyMob / No. 4 AVCA)

Saturday, Nov. 10 at 9 p.m. ET

Huff Hall | Champaign, Illinois

  • Saturday’s contest in Champaign is the lone matchup between the two teams this season. It also marks the final road match of the season for the Nittany Lions.
  • The Nittany Lions snapped a two-match losing streak with a road sweep of Iowa. Prior to the losses, Penn State had won nine in a row. After this match, PSU wraps up the season with three more ranked opponents in its final four matches.
  • Illinois brings a seven-match win streak into its Friday match with Rutgers. The Fighting Illini have topped three ranked opponents in the stretch (Wisconsin, Michigan and Nebraska).
  • Penn State boasts a 45-10 lead in the all-time series. Seven of the 10 PSU losses in the series have come in Champaign.

Kansas at Texas (No. 8 VolleyMob / No. 5 AVCA)

Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. ET

Gregory Gymnasium | Austin, Texas

  • Texas will look to avenge its four-set loss from the Oct. 10 matchup in Lawrence, Kansas. The Jayhawks outhit the Longhorns .294 to .234 in the match and followed Jada Burse (22 kills) and Ashley Smith (17 kills, .533) to victory, which was just Kansas’ sixth win in the all-time series.
  • The Longhorns have won their last five matches since that Oct. 10 loss, winning three via sweep. Texas will play Kansas State on Wednesday ahead of the matchup.
  • Kansas brings a two-match win streak into Saturday’s meeting, the Jayhawks’ lone contest of the week.

Duke at Pittsburgh (No. 10 VolleyMob / No. 10 AVCA)

  • The rematch: The Panthers get another crack at the Blue Devils, the team which handed them their lone loss of the season on Oct. 28 (3-1), snapping a 23-match win streak.
  • Pittsburgh has won its last two matches since that loss, bouncing back with road wins at Georgia Tech and Clemson, and remains 16-0 at home.
  • Duke is coming off a five-set loss at NC State on Sunday, which ended a five-match win streak for the Blue Devils.
  • The all-time series between the Panthers and Blue Devils is tied at eight wins apiece.
