China, South Korea, and Japan moved ahead of the pack this round by winning their second game of the competition and moving to 2-0. It’s safe to say that pool play is just a warm up for these 3 teams, whose competition will only really start once the elimination phase begins.

China x Taiwan

China moved to 2-0 after defeating Taiwan, now 0-2, 3-0 (25/10, 25/14, 25/14). Taiwan was held to 22% hitting as a team. Zhu Ting led the way with 11 points while Tzuying Lee had 5 points in the losing effort. Volleyball is just too easy when you have a stacked roster like the Chinese team.

South Korea x Kazakhstan

South Korea moved to 2-0 after defeating Kazakhstan, now 1-1, 3-1 (25/9, 25/14, 28/30, 25/20). Jaeyeong Lee led the way with 21 points while Kristina Anikonova had 10 points in the losing effort. It’s a nice change of pace when Kim Yeoun-kung takes a step back and lets her teammates shine.

Japan x Philippines

Japan moved t 2-0 after defeating the Philippines, now 0-2, 3-0 (25/12, 25/15, 25/21). Miyu Nagaoka led the way with 11 points while Alyja Santiago had 7 points in the losing effort. Philippines was held to 25% hitting as a team. The Philippine fans, one of the most passionate for volleyball in the world, are heartbroken, but the young team is just too inexperienced to contend at the international stage.

Vietnam x India

Vietnam moved to 1-1 after beating India, now 0-2, 3-0 (25/18, 25/22, 25/13). Thi Dinh led the way with 14 points while Soorya had 6 points in the losing effort. India only hit 26% as a team for the match.

Indonesia x Hong Kong

Indonesia moved to 1-1 after beating Hong Kong, now 0-1, 3-1 (21/25, 25/13, 25/18, 25/14). Aprilia Manganag led the way with 27 points while Sau Yeung had 17 points in the losing effort.
