Cuba def. Egypt 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-15)
Italy def. Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-22)
Italy and the Dominican Republic moved into the ninth through 12th place classification matches, taking the top two spots in Pool H. Italy defeated the Dominicans in three sets, but the pair had already secured the top placings in the group.
Cuba defeated Egypt for its first win of Week 2 of the competition, but both dropped into the 13th to 16th place classification matches.

With nothing to play for but pride, Cuba dominated Egypt 75-56 in a sweep as Dalila Palma Rodriguez served up eight of the team’s 13 aces.
The Cubans topped Egypt in kills (39-26), in blocks (6-2) and in aces (13-8). Cuba did commit three more errors in the match (20-17).
Top scorer Ailama Cese Montalvo pounded down 14 kills and added two aces for Cuba. Diaris De La Caridad Perez Ramos added 12 points, all on kills, while Rodriguez chipped in 10 points, adding two kills to her ace tally. Yamisleydis Viltres Pacheco put up a team-leading four blocks.
Nada Meawad paced Egypt with 11 points, including a team-best four aces and seven kills. Noura Moawad followed with seven points, including five kills.
Italy 3, Dominican Republic 0
Errors were the difference as Italy swept the Dominican Republic for the top spot in Pool H.
The DR committed 22 errors, while Italy made just 14 mistakes. That eight-point spread more than made up for a two kill lead for the Dominicans (37-35) and one block advantage (10-9). Italy won the serving battle 9-7 in aces.
Nkemdilim Ruth Terry Enweonwu led all scorers with 16 points for Italy, tallying 11 kills and a match-high five aces. Elena Pietrini followed with 12 points, on seven kills, a team-best three blocks and two aces. Marina Lubian (9) and Giulia Melli (8) chipped in seven kills apiece.
Vielka Michelle Peralta Luna (15), Ytanlis Liliannis Feliz Sena (14) and Madeline Jazmin Guillen Paredes (11) paced the Dominican Republic with double-digit scoring efforts. Luna downed 13 kills and added a team-best two aces. Sena chipped in 10 kills, two blocks and two aces. Paredes scored her points on eight kills, two blocks and an ace. Lisbeth Lucia Rosario Martinez put up at a team-best three blocks.
