Italy’s Vibo Valentia has announced in its official website the signing of Argentinian youngster Tomas Lopez to its roster. The 24-year-old outside hitter is set to undertake his first professional season outside of his home-country and is coming out of a excellent VNL run with his national team, a tournament in which he finished as the fourth best receiver.

Here are his first words as a member of Vibo:

“I thank Tuna Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia for this wonderful opportunity to come and play in Italy. The SuperLega Championship is the most difficult and strong in the world and it will be nice to measure myself in this new fascinating reality. I have heard good things about the team, the staff and the environment and I can not wait to start this new journey. In these years, I worked hard to achieve important goals, as was to get to the national team where I recently had the opportunity to play in the Volleyball Nations League.”

Tomas is an excellent all around player, displaying solid skills in all of the sport’s fundamentals. He’ll greatly help a Vibo team that really under-performed last season with an abysmal 4-22 record.
