La Cucine Lube Civitanova are the Italian Serie A champions after defeating Diatec Trentino 3-1 on Sunday. Lube won the match 28-26, 25-20, 18-25, 25-14 to take the championship series 3-0.
Lube hit at a .554 clip in the match and put up 14 blocks. Tsvetan Sokolov managed 23 points to lead Lube, including 18 kills. Osmany Juantorena added 20 points, including 15 kills, while match MVP Jiri Kovar added 15. Amercian Micah Christenson added three points, including a block.
For Diatec, Filippo Lanza led the way with 20 points.
Lube won the first two matches in the final series, 3-0 in Civitanova and 3-2 in Trentino.
