Polish club Łuczniczka Bydgoszcz has announced in its official website that it has parted ways with Brazilian opposite hitter Henrique Batagim on a mutual agreement. Batagim joined the club at the beginning of the season and played in a total of nine game. However, during a match against BBTS Bielsko-Biała, Batagim, he went down with an injury that will sideline him from volleyball for a long time.

The team wished the Brazilian player good luck in his career and his health. The 27-year-old 6’5″ Brazilian will now return to Brazil for treatment. Batagim, who had been a staple for all of Brazil’s youth teams,  played limited roles for Superliga’s top clubs in his young career before leaving for stints in the Greek and Polish Leagues.

Łuczniczka Bydgoszcz sits in 14th place in Plusligas’ standings, just out of the relegation zone, with a 3-12 record. The Polish club has already announced Yevgenii Gorchaniuk as Batagim’s replacement.
